i’ve learned with age that wisdom is beyond words and that love needs the fewest words. i know now why patience is the highest virtue. it’s the ability to stand still to stop running to look at yourself in every moment still have enough patience to do it again tomorrow and not lose your sense of humour. if only it weren’t for computers! but those fucking things can bring you back into the moment when they crash and all you have is a simple pen and paper when all you have is you and yourself! xo zara oct 2′09

Hello my sweet friends,
Just wanted to update you on the latest…
I am excited to tell you I will be singing live at La Piste in Agami Alexandria, Egypt on Thursday July 9th. I will then be singing at White Club in Beirut, Lebanon on Saturday July 11th. I am so thrilled for this adventure to the Middle East. I hope those of you in the area will be able to make it out to these special events, I am sure they will be memorable. I promise;) I will of course be singing “LOST” so don’t miss out;)

i am a romantic (and proud of it;) and greater than my human need for connection is my innate obsession to be apart of something bigger than myself. lately, i’ve been talking with my friends about values and how relationships have to share certain priorities and values to be sustainable. the main question being:
is love and relationship your highest value or is it work and career?
we can think in terms of balancing our highest values between love and work and on a larger scale balancing the values of the planet.
are people our highest value or is economic growth?
that one’s been obvious for a long time, at least 50 years of crazy accelerated economic growth and global expansion at the cost of the poorest people and the environment…but at the end of the day it’s a tough argument that most would prefer to ignore because we all want to reap the benefits, be rich AND be happy. the ever growing obvious truth is that our planet is imbalanced, unsustainable and dying. we NEED both to care for the people, the environment and have sustainable growth to survive. this is not my topic of expertise but rather my fathers so please read his new and incredible book, EVOLUTIONS EDGE- the coming collapse and transformation of our planet by GRAEME TAYLOR. (it recently won the GOLD independent publisher’s award for book most likely to change the planet)…i’m sooooo proud of you dad!
i feel i strive to find balance in my career and in my relationships but can you ever really have both? it seems you’re either an addict or a pusher of a finite resource called LOVE.
so in the name of human nature how is it different for the planet as a whole?
In my heart i know it starts with the self, loving the self, finding balance between self-love and giving love to your relationships, and to your work. i also know in my heart that we can not run an emotional debt with ourselves if we want to have healthy relationships, because then you are always coming from a fear centered place driven by lack and need. in the same way, we can no longer afford to run a human debt on this planet, sacrificing people for profit and maintaining the mind frame that money has more value than the soul!

hey all,
the sun in shinning downtown vancouver and i am off to the juno’s. i’ll say it officially on my blog; I AM GOING TO THE JUNO’S TO MANIFEST BEING NOMINATED & VISUALIZE PERFORMING AT THEM NEXT YEAR!!! yes.
so, other than the crazy juno parties i’ve been at all weekend, i have been a writing machine. everyday in the studio. everyday i’m laying down a new song idea . it’s been intense. here’s a taste of some lyrics i wrote for one of my ideas;)

well hello there;)
i’m just sitting in my new apartment downtown vancouver, the sun is shinning and i’m feeling pretty shiny too. i’m chillin’ in my studio up here from the 25th floor looking out over the city onto the gorgeous north-shore mountains and i can even see mount baker on this crispy clear day. i was a little disappointed when i got news from my agent this month that my egypt and europe tour was postponed until april but i’m smiling again after just writing a new song. i can’t wait to share it with you. it’s amazing how the act of creating art can throw you back into the moment and melt all your worries away.
so, other than keeping busy with my move and writing and recording in the studio this month, i got the honour of guest-hosting a 2 hour trance radio show on malaysia’s radio KUL with simon lee and alvin, episode 073. it was so much fun and the track list was awesome. you can download it for free on itunes, just search radio KUL with simon lee and alvin. you can also read the interview i did with them titled “Zara Taylor : In Love and Breathing Soul Into Electronic Anthems” (i thought that was a generous and sexy title, thanks guys;) check it out at-

Happy New Year my Friends,
I know it’s been a while since I last wrote you, I’m so sorry. I have so much news to share I wanted to have some solid time to write it all down for you. So, where do I start…
Well, the month of December was a very exciting month for me. My song with DJ Shah “Lost” was voted #1 best trance song of 2008 on Armin Van Buuren’s A State Of Trance Radio Show aka ASOT. With over 30 million listeners worldwide, you can imagine what an honor it was for me to get the top vote, I was ecstatic. Armin then asked me to perform “Lost” with him live in L.A for New Years Eve. At first I was told I’d be singing at the L.A Sports Arena for 20,000 people which was super thrilling as it would be the biggest audience of my career. I was a little nervous when thinking about it, I thought I might just pee my pants when I saw all those people. It turned out there was 60,000 people watching me when I stepped out onto that stage with Armin and miraculously I didn’t pee my pants, in fact I didn’t feel nervous at all. I took a deep breath and inhaled all that wonderful energy from the crowd and I felt I had died and gone to heaven. It was the best 3.5 minutes of my life, LOL. The crowd was screaming and singing along, it was truly glorious. Thanks to DJ Shah for making such a great song with me and thanks to Armin for including me in his massive and awesome New Year’s show. I’ll never forget that special night.
Thankfully, it was just a great beginning to an even more exciting 2009 as I’m headed off to sing in Cairo, Egypt next month and then to Europe in March. I will also be working on some collaborations with Armin and possibly some new stuff with Sultan as well. I am back in the studio next week with the soul-full Chin Injeti to finish up our special little project…my first solo album, yipee!
So, if you’re a little confused as to which direction I’m headed in with my music, please let me clarify…
I have been developing a career in dance music, specifically the genres of Progressive House and Vocal Trance, for the last 5 years. I have been very fortunate to achieve some great success on this path, most recently with my song “Lost” being voted #1 Best Trance Song of 2008. The song has been featured on many compilations, most currently on Armin Van Buuren’s “A State of Trance, Radio Top 15 (January 2009) which is presently the #1 album on the itunes Canada Dance Charts. With this success, I am getting the exciting opportunities to A. Quite my job and B. Travel the world singing. It is also affording me to focus full-time on my dream album which is a solo album I am now writing with Chin Injeti (from the former group Base is Base). This is not going to be a dance music album but rather a more up-close and personal look into the soul and heart of Zara (me;) You will be able to groove to this music, it will be soulful, it will have sexy beats, it will be sexy…did I already say that??? LOL…and I do believe if you are a fan of my dance music, especially “Lost”, then you will enjoy this new album too.
So, I hope you haven’t felt I have abandoned you as of lately but rather I have kept you waiting in anticipation for more new news;)
I am really really excited for this new year and all the adventures that await. I have cleaned out my closet. I’m getting rid of the old and anything that is no longer useful to me in my life…like negativity. I am moving into a new place. I am in LOVE. I am a receptor, as my boyfriend puts it (LOL…it sounds like a dinosaur)…I am open to happiness, health and prosperity and it’s gonna be some next level shit in 2009, lemme tell ya!!!
